Coming Home

I found this cute little canvas and easel on a greeting card that I bought just for the canvas. I used to have a dog and he would faithly be waiting for my arrival at home, I miss him and lately I wish for another dog. In the mean time these little two will have to do besides no need to ever walk them, feed them or clean up after them! The chair and pillows is also my creation. Shoddy I know lol.

Roll Over Rover

I know, I know-where is this garden?! I am so easily side tracked by new ideas. Here's some stuff I made because I am at temporary mojo loss on garden or just bored with it at the moment... I scrapped the video (cuz I sounded retarded) and instead here's some photos of the pipe cleaner dog I made. His name is Rover. See is cute little green ball? His tongue is made from sculpey. Go ahead tell me what a geni-ass I am!

Just Take The First Step

I want to walk up the steps and recline in the chair, that's how awesome this miniature garden scene is. I wish I knew the artist/source.

I can totally see this in one inch scale. I love the walls too. Come on hands! We have miracles work to do...

Nigel-The Gardener

I made another dog from pipe cleaner but this time I think it looks less pipe cleaner because on this one I used my imagination. Of course I have to give credit for the original concept to Myfroggystuff-I accidentally stumbled on her videos on youtube and although she works in larger doll scale-the craft ideas are very useful to miniatures.

I cannot begin to express all the joy of discovering so many amazing artist and doll/miniature enthusiasts blogs I've come across. To be inspired is one of the greatest things.

Mini hugs to you!

Thank You

The human form is something that always captivate and inspires one to capture. These caught my eye, the first being a window display in a Japanese restaurant and the second the jewerlry display at Neiman Marcus. I really like the latter because although the figure isn't clearly defined it still has a difinitive impact.

A special thank you and welcome to the new visitors and followers of the blog!

Gardens of Imagination

My garden is coming along, trying to wind it down to a conclusion...but here is a humble sneak peak. DO you see the pond? It didn't quite come the way I wanted originally and I almost abandoned it but new inspiration came a while after.

My first try at making dogs-from pipe cleaners! I think there will be many more in all different colors!

Art Is

I went this weekend to a few gallery/art events and I am convinced after stumbling on this in my photo archives that somewhere somehow this is art, too.

Creativity, the Arts, and Madness

I'm in my studio y'all-working on that garden. Having lofty ideas LIKE a Koi Pond and Stairs! I've been staring at this photo for two days now dreaming wondering how I can incorporate some of these beloved elements in this photo such as the stairs, the doors and those potted plants.

Men have called me mad; but the question is not yet settled, whether madness is or is not the loftiest intelligence-whether much that is glorious-whether all that is profound-does not spring from disease of thought-from moods of mind exalted at the expense of the general intellect.

They who dream by day are cognizant of many things which escape those who dream only by night. In their grey vision they obtain glimpses of eternity.... They penetrate, however rudderless or compassless, into the vast ocean of the "light affable."

(Edgar Allan Poe, cited in Galloway, 1986, p. 243 ).

Oh My Goodness!

I'm browsing videos on Stylelikeu.com and come across Julius Debruhl Lewis | designer, vintage collector. Look what he collects! How gorgeous is that?!

Judging by these photos-the miniatures aren't the only thing I'd enjoy perusing through! What style, taste and imagination!

Mr. Lewis is quoted as saying:

I must be surrounded by beauty at all times. It's my food, my energy." Julius Debruhl Lewis

I am going to take a guess and say he's a Libra. LOL.

Wait I watched the video in it's entirety and I think I'm going to cry...miniatures at the 1:03 mark.

Conversations

I just happened to stumble upon the conversation of Madame X and her guests discussing life in Paris. So jealous. I want to go to Paris!

Build Your Garden

Just a preview of my latest project-posted to keep me on track. There is something about Gardens and the act of gardening that is so wonderful-the beautiful array of flowers, the colors, the scent, the trees...captured in miniature still life where there is no chance of a single flower fading is all the more glorious. And I just had to include a photo of our pet hamster Hammi-he's the cutest miniature thing I know :)
