I know you said you don't want to go with wallpaper, but I would use paper for it. A thick, smooth watercolor paper, the size of the wall. Then use several layers of watercolor paints. The trick to get those lovely sharp edges and strange shapes I think could be done using masking fluid (or frisket) which will block out watercolor in the areas you apply it to.
I think I'll have a go at this myself as well! Susihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15767824760206418264noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6110651967150751232.post-18897452820714647692010-12-04T21:44:31.123-08:002010-12-04T21:44:31.123-08:00i love interiors such as this xi love interiors such as this xgalatea.https://www.blogger.com/profile/17378942973884808293noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6110651967150751232.post-40942289445204505452010-10-14T09:45:19.578-07:002010-10-14T09:45:19.578-07:00Absolutely gorgeous!!Absolutely gorgeous!!Kimberlyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06613147580422334681noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6110651967150751232.post-32542727982799458072010-10-10T22:14:05.365-07:002010-10-10T22:14:05.365-07:00@jstar-hi hun, thanks for stopping by..wish you co...@jstar-hi hun, thanks for stopping by..wish you could see the pics :)

@Norma-colored tissue hmm that's an interesting idea.

@daydreamer-sounds like you had an awesome apartment, thanks for the advice-experimentation is in order!Thevisionarybutterflyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10251152594693573912noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6110651967150751232.post-24350285904242190342010-10-07T16:16:37.194-07:002010-10-07T16:16:37.194-07:00Gorgeous walls! I had walls like those in my old house.... once I started to try and remove all the layers of wallpaper!
As for paint, I think you can use any artist acryllic paint on the walls. It dries quicker than house paints do, and is very adaptable to mixing your own colors. But you might want to do as Norma suggests and use layers of paper for the collage effect. I guess it would depend on how much textured surface you want. The paint alone would be fairly smooth.
I LOVE moody pictures!Daydreamerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06170115485686244907noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6110651967150751232.post-3936618912900141282010-10-07T13:01:49.701-07:002010-10-07T13:01:49.701-07:00I love these, I've been collecting pics like t...I love these, I've been collecting pics like these for a while. I want to do something like this in the French aparment above the Brocante. Looking forward to seeing yours. I've been thinking that perhaps layers of ripped coloured tissue paper would work well for this effect, haven't tried it yet tho.Norma Bennetthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09601307344195166189noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6110651967150751232.post-77528910854779858262010-10-07T04:55:05.541-07:002010-10-07T04:55:05.541-07:00I dont know I cant see your pics on this blog.
